Bridgeport Police are investigating the shooting death of Karla Bermudez, 22, of Bridgeport. She was shot multiple times and died from the injuries in the early morning.

Police said Bermudez was not the intended victim. The shooters were after her boyfriend.

Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation around 5:30 a.m. on Monday at 42 Washington Terrace. There they found Bermudez and another victim, a 23-year-old man who sustained non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Both victims were sleeping in bed when someone shot multiple times into the house, police said. Two other adults who were home at the time were not injured, police said.
